What should you measure before delivery?
The machine width is only one part of access. Residential jobs often fail because the trailer cannot stage safely, the gate opens the wrong way, or the path cannot support the trailer and machine together.
| Access point | What to check | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Gate | Clear opening, latch, post spacing | Tracks and blade need real clearance |
| Path | Slope, turns, soft ground, roots | Prevents stuck machines and turf damage |
| Overhead | Trees, wires, pergolas | Boom and canopy need clearance |
| Unloading area | Flat, firm, truck access | Reduces delivery and safety risk |
How do you reduce lawn damage?
- Work when the lawn is dry if scheduling allows.
- Lay plywood or ground protection mats in repeated travel paths.
- Avoid sharp counter-rotation turns on finished turf.
- Stage spoils where the machine does not need to cross the lawn repeatedly.
